12 midnight
Castle opens Beckett’s passenger door, trying to keep his being ‘gentlemanliness’. They came from the premiere of “Heat Wave”, Castle’s first book from his Heat Series.
Castle: “There you go. And you’re home!”
Beckett: “Thanks for dropping me off Castle.”
Castle: “Don’t mention it. I wouldn’t want you to ride a cab all by yourself with that extremely hot dress you’re in, I mean people these days are ju-..”
Beckett: “Castle, I’m a cop, I can take care of myself. and I.. *takes a small pistol gun from under her dress and shows it to Castle* take a gun with me, just in case.”
Castle: “Oh, well, err. I have nothing else to say.”
Castle dumbfounded by the way she puts the gun back to wherever she puts it, all he knows is that it’s under her dress, and it’s way back there.
Beckett stands up, fixing her hair into a ponytail.
Castle: “Wai.. wait wait wait. Don’t do that, you’ll mess up the whole Nikki Heat vibe.”
Beckett: “Castle, I am no Nikki Heat. Nikki Heat was a product of your imagination. Are you going in or are we going to start an argument here?”
Castle: “In, we are going in, officer.”
Beckett: “Good. Now, let’s go.”
Beckett smiled as she turned her head away from Castle, hoping that he didn’t realize that she just asked him to go up.
They were on an elevator, just the two of them, listening to elevator music.
Castle: “Oh, and I forgot to ask, where’s Josh?”
Beckett: “Oh well, you know, saving the world.”
Castle nodded
Castle: “Oh, okay.”
Beckett breaks her silence
Beckett: “Well, how was Natalie? Did she hit it off or what?”
Castle: “Eh, well, she’s nothing compared to the inspiration.”
Beckett smiled, her eyes grew as the elevator door opened and made a “ting” sound. Castle walked out before he saw her eyes glistening. He stopped for a moment, and looked at Beckett.
Castle: “Well, what are you waiting for?”
Castle offered his arm and let his intertwine with hers. They strolled to her door, and finally stopped.
Castle: “You know what Kate?”
Beckett looked at him
Beckett: “What?”
Castle: “You look incredible tonight.”
She smirked it off, trying to hide her cheeks from being all red
Beckett: “I’m nothing compared to you, Castle.”
Castle: “No, no, the world is nothing compared to you.”
Castle leaned on the wall as he waits for Beckett to open her door. Beckett, of course, couldn’t avoid her blushing. She finally opened the door and just left it like that for a good 2 seconds.
Beckett: “There, home sweet home. Do you want to get in?”
Castle fixed his tuxedo and looked at her
Castle: “Maybe next time, I still have a father-daughter-mother thing to attend to.”
Beckett looked down, playing with her keys.
Beckett: “Okay. Goodnight then.”
Beckett holds the doorknob until he stops her and held her other hand, she turns around and look at him
Castle: “Wait. Goodnight, uh, detective. Till tomorrow.”
Beckett held Castle’s hand with her other hand, making their hands top each others. She leans in and gives him a kiss on the cheek
Beckett: “Night.”
And she lets go, leaving him without an explanation. A blank, expressionless Castle at the middle of the hallway.
Castle: “Kate, wait.”
he stops her from closing the door. Beckett looks at him and slowly opened the door.
Beckett: “I thought you were leav-..”
Castle held her tight and whispered
Castle: “Kate, I can’t let this one pass.”
And kissed her, from her forehead, down to her tinted lips.
